Industrial and System Engineering (ISE)

Background

Officially established under the Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in January 2008, the group has been working in the area of industrial engineering and operations management (IEOM) since 2005 with the establishment of Industrial Engineering Laboratory. 

Industrial System Engineering (ISE) is recognized as one of the important research groups in the faculty with a clear vision to be a leader in IEOM related activities. ISE is established with the aim of promoting, conducting and supporting research and academic activities related to industrial engineering, technology and management.

Research Focus: Production Planning and Control; Quality Engineering and Management; Ergonomics

Reseach Area

  • As the key player in IEOM area in UTHM, the group is committed to carry out intensive research in the following areas:

    • Work Scheduling
    • Statistical Process Control Pattern Recognition
    • Total Quality Management and Business Excellence
    • Ergonomics
    • Reverse Logistics
    • Production Layout and Simulation
