Established under the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in January 2012, the group has been working in the area of structural integrity and monitoring of mechanical and materials engineering.
Structural Integrity and Monitoring Research Group (SIMReG) has a vision to be a leader in structural integrity and monitoring fields and the related activities. SIMReG is established with the aim of promoting, conducting and supporting research and academic activities related to the development of reliable mechanical components.
As the key player in structural integrity and monitoring areas in UTHM, the group is committed to carry out intensive research in the following areas:
- Computational and Experimental Mechanics
- Vibration, Noise and Acoustic Monitoring
- Crashworthiness and Impact Mechanics
