In an effort to intensify its international collaboration, the Faculty of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (FKMP) has received with a great pleasure from February to June 2019, six international students from various foreign institutions including the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany, the Islamic University of Medinah, Saudi Arabia, and the University Widyagama, Indonesia.


On the 17th and 19th June 2019, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering UTHM with a great pleasure has received two students from Islamic University of Madinah and a student from Hochschule Osnabrueck. They were among the selected students by their home institution in the inbound student mobility programme organized by UTHM. They will undergo an internship program and attached with local industries for 6 months. Congratulation FKMP and the supervisors. Hopefully this will be long-lasting corporate relationships.



Improving university performance has become an indisputable issue in the increasingly competitive environment. The Faculty is always trying to improve the quality of programme through benchmarking exercises, in which the comparative strengths and opportunities for improvement can be identified, and best practices can be adopted. Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering has organized a benchmarking visit to Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) on 27th March 2019.

The image of being up in the sky and operating flight controls of an aircraft is often seen as glamorous and exciting. Being a pilot is also deemed a highly rewarding profession, and a popular career choice among Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) school-leavers in the country.
