Industrial and Indoor Environment Research Group (IIERG)

Background

Officially established under the Department of Energy and Thermofluids Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in October 2004; Thermal Environment Laboratory has become the location of activity. The group has been working in the area of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) since 2000 with the establishment of Industrial Engineering Laboratory, under the Faculty of Engineering Technology.

Industrial Environment Research Group (IIERG) is recognized as one of the 19 research groups in the faculty with a clear vision to be a leader in industrial environment related activities. IIERG is established with the aim of promoting, conducting and supporting research and academic activities related to industrial environment engineering and technology.

Reseach Area

As the key player in Industrial Environment area in UTHM, the group is committed to carry out intensive research in the following areas:

  • Indoor Environment Quality
  • Mechanical Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MVAC)
  • Energy in Building (Energy audit)
  • Local Exhaust Ventilation
  • Occupational Safety and Health
  • Plant Safety / Building Safety
