Nano Structure and Surface Modification (NanoSurf)


BACKGROUND

Nanostructure and Surface Modification research unit was established with the purpose to support the inter-disciplinary research area under Hybrid Composite Research Center (HCRC). With expertise in nano science, chemistry and physics in nanotechnology and nanomaterials as well as surface modification, our group will focus on formulation, synthesization and fabrication of various advance materials with the interest is at nanoscale level. A current emphasis is more on synthesization of solar cell materials, photocatalyst mechanism, antimicrobial, functional additive materials, membrane application as well as other related research interest. A strong emphasis is placed on the hetero-integration of multicomposition, multi-structure and multi-function especially at nanoscale in creating a new generation structure and materials with desired functions to break the boundaries of traditional technologies. The surface modification focusing on investigation corrosion, wear and surface properties. This research cluster also enable improvement of coating or thin film as well as creating environmental friendly inhibitor for sustainable development. Most of the research activity here also is strongly support with a good lab facilities i.e: preparation, synthesis, processing, characterization, performance with an expert academician/postgraduate student from varies background. The researcher with strong expertise in oil and gas materials for wear, corrosion and combination of both will enhance the research capability.

CONSULTANCY

NanoSurf is well equipped to conduct research and provide consultation in:

  • Characterization of nanomaterials 
  • Performance testing and mechanical properties of nanostructure materials 
  • Synthesization and development routes of nanostructure and nanoparticle materials 
  • Corrosion and wear
