Overview

Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering consists of 26 staff, which includes Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, Instructors, Tutors and also Technicians. In supporting the faculty academic programs, Bachelor and Masters, the department offers elective courses in the field of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. The department itself is divided into three academic panels: Manufacturing Process, Industrial System & Engineering and Manufacturing System & Automation. Under Manufacturing Process, it has five laboratories: Rapid Prototyping, Advanced Machining, Welding & Fabrication, CAD/CAM and Foundry. For the Industrial & System Engineering, it has two laboratories: Metrology and Industrial Engineering & Ergonomics. Finally, Manufacturing System & Automation field comprises four laboratories: Industrial Automation, Packaging, Textile and Manufacturing Simulation. All the laboratories are equipped with the latest equipment, machineries and software. The department also actively involved in research activities, mostly on Advanced Manufacturing Technology that emphasizes a strong relationship with industry. It also attracts potential students who can interact well with industrial professionals that focused on appropriate methods for improving processes, products, and systems.
